WHAT IS RALLYFREE?
Don't settle for one-sided sits, downs and heeling. Who wants a lopsided dog? You and your dog can do much more together!
What is RallyFreestyle Elements ("RallyFrEe")?
"RallyFrEe is a unique sport combining trick behaviors of Canine Musical Freestyle with the structure and format of Rally-Obedience. It emphasizes the precise ecxecution of fundamental freestyle and obedience skills while encouraging creative and novel behaviors on a Rally-Obedience style course. RallyFrEe encourages the use of positive reinforcement training methods that strengthen teamwork and foster a reciprocal learning process between dog and handler."
MOVE! We will plant the seeds for positioning, including left, right and center heel positions. You will learn and practice simple and cool moves "on the go," combining "obedience" behaviors, tricks, movement and freestyle while solidifying basic positions and behaviors such as joyous attention, tight heeling, recall and targeting. Your dog loves to move - discover ways to incorporate his own talents into working with you in a cooperative, active way!
RallyFrEe will help increase the level of communication and teamwork with your dog and will help prepare you for and enhance performance in other dog sports such as Canine Musical Freestyle, Rally-O, agility and more. You will learn how to get precise, in-position and verbally-cued moves and how to put them into basic sequences. Platforms, pens and other helpful props will set everyone up for success!
My RallyFree Credentials
I have titled 3 dogs in RallyFrEe and 2 dogs in Freestyle. Astro was the 7th dog in the world to earn his Grand Championship in RallyFrEe. Dory was at the ripe age of 13 when she got her Novice title (she started training in RallyFrEe at 12) and current dog Skipper has worked his way to the advanced level. Both Astro and Skipper have multiple titles in RallyFreestyle (a.k.a., "canine musical freestyle") and Skipper is currently competing at the advanced level.
I taught RallyFrEe for several years many years ago and am eager to get going again!
I am working towards earning my RallyFrEe Instructor certification. There is just one other certified trainer in Maine.
